A Journey Rooted in Health and Wellness

Dr. Kathleen MacIsaac’s career in medicine began with a deep interest in both the science and philosophy of healing. After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Brown University with degrees in Biology and Biomedical Ethics, she earned her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine, where she also completed her internship and residency in general surgery. During her time in the military as an Otolaryngologist, Dr. MacIsaac gained valuable experience in both traditional and integrative approaches, serving patients across the globe—from Germany to the UK—while stationed in the U.S. Air Force.

Discovering a Holistic Approach

While working in Germany, Dr. MacIsaac was first introduced to the combination of homeopathy and conventional medicine, sparking a lifelong passion for integrative care. Over the years, she expanded her knowledge by studying various healing modalities, from Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine to Environmental Medicine and Functional Medicine. This journey led her to open her first wellness-focused office in 1997, dedicated to combining traditional and natural therapies.

Continual Learning and Global Experience

Dr. MacIsaac has traveled the world to deepen her understanding of wellness. From practicing yoga and meditation in India to apprenticing with Ayurvedic doctors, she has embraced a holistic approach to patient care. Her dedication to learning extends to her studies with renowned institutions, such as the American Academy for the Advancement of Medicine and the Institute of Functional Medicine.

A Life of Adventure and Healthy Living

Outside of the office, Dr. MacIsaac leads an active lifestyle, enjoying yoga, cycling, and hiking. She has embarked on expeditions to places like Mt. Kilimanjaro and Everest Base Camp, bringing her passion for wellness into every aspect of her life. With an open mind and compassionate spirit, Dr. MacIsaac believes in working closely with her patients, building partnerships to achieve their health goals.

A New Chapter in Lexington, Virginia

In 2022, Dr. MacIsaac and her husband decided to make a change, relocating to Lexington, Virginia, after nearly three decades in Florida. Drawn by the charm of a small college town and the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains, she has since established her new integrative practice, offering compassionate, personalized care to her patients.
